OUR STORY

My name is Kirbie Abbott — I am the founder of Changing Minds Tutoring, and will be the tutor working alongside you and your student throughout their early childhood learning journey. 
I came up with the idea of Changing Minds through my experience within the classroom, both as a student and as a teacher. One of the most prominent things that I learned in a classroom setting is this: differentiated instruction is absolutely essential, and is also sorely lacking in most instances. Unfortunately, many students in public school settings will not receive the attention and assistance that they need to succeed in their traditional classroom alone; that is where Changing Minds comes in. My goal is to bridge the gap and ensure that every student is given the time and personalized instruction that may be missing in the general education classroom. As a former teacher myself, I understand how precious time is, and how we always wish for more in order to truly reach every student and solidify the new concepts that are being taught. In addition, I place emphasis on learning from each one of my students in return in order to create the most effective learning tools and environment for each individual. Throughout this process, my students and I are a team, with the shared goal of continued education and deeper learning.
